2023 Season Overview

Autumn started the 2023 season with the Spruce Meadows indoor series held over 3 weeks in March/April, training and competing in 1.0m - 1.1m & 1.15m jumpers. It was very apparent that she had regained her confidence and her riding skills had reached a new level.

Horse Expo Canada in Red Deer Alberta was the next stop for a clinic with Robert Gharibzadeh where he helped to show Autumn how to keep her focus on maintaining her position on the horse, her and her horses posture, and overall performance in the ring.

The high-lite of Autumns start to the season was during a visit to Valleyfield Farm where owner Ellicia Edgar gave Autumn the opportunity to ride her 1.6 meter Grand Prix jumper Messenger VF.

Autumn clinched her first clear round and win at 1.2 meters in the Blue Sky Classic at Amberlea Meadows.

By the end of the 2022 season Autumn was feeling that she was no longer progressing in the sport with her current trainer and was wanting a change.

In July of 2023 that change was made and Autumn is currently Riding with Trademark Stables and being trained by Canadian Olympian Lisa Carlsen and Dayton Gorsline. Lisa is still a frequent member of Canadian Nations Cup teams. Dayton is the jumping youth development program advisor for the Equestrian Canada Jumping Talent ID Program. Autumn is also training with Serge Zayika and Take Off Equestrian out of Birnam Wood Stables.

The 2023/2024 winter season marked Autumns first year of international competition as she trained and competed full time at Desert Horse Park in California with Lisa Carlsen and Dayton Gorsline.

The shows we plan on attending

RMSJ_MainLogo_dropshadow3-01-01_edited_edited.png

As much as we love attending shows at RMSJ we will not be frequenting the venue as often as we have in the past. Autumns focus is on her progression into the Grand Prix Ring and a spot on the National Youth Team.

With this focus in mind we will be attending more shows offering points toward world rankings and since RMSJ is not sanctioned we will be using it more-so as a training venue if at all
